Massive Gay Club With Go-Go Boys & Drag Shows
It was my first visit to this gay São Paulo club, located in the Barra Funda neighborhood. Housed in a blue colonial building, the club was packed with people of all ages. It featured two dance floors, a lounge area, three bars, a VIP balcony, huge LED screens on the stage and lights — a real nightclub.
I have to say, getting in was a little bit sketchy, because it’s an old blue building and bit dark. They gave me a paper card for my drink consumption. You have the option to drink or just pay a cover (check my São Paulo Bar System post for details). I left my camera bag in the coat check. It was Saturday night, and there were a cover charge.
I walked around with my friend Felipe Gomez, who lives in São Paulo and said the place was celebrating 20 years in business! Felipe is 21 — almost as old as him. We went to the main floor, and I was able to feel the bass. I loved that! We started dancing, and a drag show started. The production for all the performances was very well done.
Leyllah Diva Black performed the Beyonce songs “Formation” and “Run the World.” Right after was the amazing singer Francine and her dancers, who kept the audience entertained for almost an hour. Great music by DJ Breno Barreto.
On the smaller dance floor, the DJ was playing pop and traditional Brazilian music (playing Funk Do Brasil). It was much smaller and darker with a private room on the side.
I was truly impressed with the entertainment. If you are looking to dance, a popular club full of all guys of all ages, great shows and excellent music, then this is a good place. It’s not upscale, but for sure I had a great time, and I even met some drag queens!
